Reading: M12 Studio for A Shape Without a Word

A participatory reading of gathered and intercut texts related to the context surrounding M12’s artwork, A Shape Without a Word. Texts include first person labor accounts of the Monsanto Chemical Works and other references related to the cultural and environmental landscapes of the American Bottom region, and Sauget, Illinois. The National Building Arts Center is located within this municipality, which was first incorporated as Monsanto in 1926. The reading duration is approximately 20-minutes and takes place alongside the artwork. All are welcome.
